Règles des combats de l’Ares Garden

Règles des combats de l’Ares Garden are the conduct rules Chen invokes to control fighters at the illegal boxing venue. Their clearest statement comes after Jungkook fights while affected by cocaine and strikes a paying spectator: Chen bars him from returning and says he will alert other clubs, making the rules consequential beyond the immediate bout.

Scope and Setting

The rules govern conduct inside Ares Garden, where illegal fights take place under the cover of a bar. Chen’s arrangement allows police officers to drink there and sometimes watch the fights; the narrative describes those officers as corrupt and afraid to speak out against Chen. In that setting, the rules are not presented as public law or as a written code. They are the venue’s own limits, backed by Chen’s authority.

Prohibited Conduct

Chen identifies two specific violations. Fighters may not enter a bout drunk or with cocaine in their system, and they must not hit members of the audience who pay to watch. His rebuke connects Jungkook’s drug use to the danger and disorder of fighting under the influence, while the prohibition on striking spectators distinguishes the paying crowd from opponents in the ring.

Enforcement and Consequences

Chen’s response is immediate: he tells Jungkook not to set foot in Ares Garden again until he has taken the necessary steps. Jungkook accepts the decision, acknowledges that he knew the rules, and says he will not return. Chen also threatens to inform the other clubs, extending the ban’s potential reach beyond his own venue. He separately insists that Jungkook apologize to Shelby and says he will make sure it happens; that demand accompanies the disciplinary scene but is not identified as one of the boxing rules.

Narrative Significance

The rules show that Ares Garden’s illegal operation still depends on boundaries and enforcement. Chen’s authority is clearest when he withdraws Jungkook’s access after Jungkook’s cocaine use and attack on a paying spectator. The episode makes the cost of crossing those limits concrete: Jungkook loses his place at the venue and faces the possibility of being excluded by other clubs as well.
